The King's Consort is one of the world's leading period instrument orchestras and choirs. Founded 34 years ago, its many CD recordings have won many prestigious international awards and sold more than 1,500,000 discs. On tour, The King's Consort has appeared in almost every European country, in Japan, Hong Kong, the Far East and North and South America. TKC appears both as a chamber ensemble, and as an orchestra, working with its highly acclaimed Choir of The King's Consort, who have also appeared on the sound tracks of Hollywood films.
TKC's repertoire ranges from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries. Most famed for its performances of baroque repertoire by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Vivaldi, and classical works by Haydn and Mozart, TKC also performs nineteenth and twentieth century music by Brahms, Britten, Gershwin, Kern, Mendelssohn, Parry, Rossini, Stanford and more. Contemporary composers who have written for TKC include Michael Finnissy and Michael Berkeley. TKC now records for the VIVAT label.

soprano Carolyn Sampson and The King's Consort. Due for release in June is a disc of Purcell's "Ten Sonatas in Four Parts".
